Below you will our booking frequently asked questions. Please review this FAQ page before submitting a request.

  • We are located in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania, USA.

  • Most tattoo shops are store fronts that cater to walk-ins / foot traffic but here at Iron Thorn we are strictly by appointment only. You can still stop by the studio to check it out, talk to a professional in person, buy apparel, and other tattoo related products during shop hours but tattoos will need to be planned ahead with your artist along with a deposit down to hold your date and design.

  • You can fill out this booking request form! Please select the artist you are wanting to book with or select “Best Fit (Shop Recommendation)” and we can match you with the artist we think would be the best for your project.

  • The shop takes cash and credit card.

  • All approved requests will be given an estimate at booking but please note that this is an ESTIMATE only. While we try to be as accurate as possible when quoting multiple factors could impact pricing. If you need to adhere to a very strict budget please be clear about that when booking.

    If you are booked for a full day session and you would like to continue to be tattooed after your allotted booked time, this time will be charged at the artists hourly range.

    Alexus Inks - Sessions are typically booked in half or full-day increments. Rates are $500 for a half-day and $750 for a full day.

    Chloe - Hourly rate is $120/hour with a $100 minimum.

    Connor - Days are charged at a flat-rate of $1,500 for custom work and my flash designs are typically $850.

    Courtney - Rates are $700 for half-day, $1200 for full-day. Flash pieces start at $175.

    Kevin - Rates range depending on the piece but in general day rates typically range from $700-$1000.

    Tianna - Hourly rate is $150/hour with a $100 minimum.

  • ALL deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions, so please be aware of this before you book.

  • Please email us at inquiries@ironthorntattoo.com as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or reschedule through the confirmation email link sent to you a week before your appointment. If you are rescheduling with less than 7 days’ notice and more than one time or if you are more than 20+ minutes late to your appt your deposit will be forfeited (exceptions at the artist’s discretion). A deposit is required to hold all appointments so if you cancel a session without enough notice or multiple times and you have future appointments booked, all sessions will be removed from the schedule unless a new deposit is sent.

    Canceled appointments must be rescheduled within 3 months to retain deposit.

  • ALL designs will be shown on the day of your appointment. Extra time is allotted for minor changes on the day of your appointment. Please familiarize yourself with your artists body of work to ensure their style matches what you are looking for.

    We encourage you to add reference photos of the artists work you are wanting to book with so the artist can best get an idea of what you are looking for.

  • Make sure you are well hydrated before coming in and please don’t come to your appointment on an empty stomach (this is especially important if you’re getting a larger piece). Alcohol consumption the night before can thin the blood and make it difficult to tattoo as well, so please keep that to a minimum. We suggest being well-rested before coming to your appointment as well. It’s also important to make sure you’re wearing something comfortable/accessible (and something you don’t mind potentially getting ink or ointment on) so the artist can access the spot in which you are getting tattooed. Also a valid form of government-issued identification will be required of you for paperwork prior to getting started. If your ID is expired, we can not accept it so please come prepared!

  • Please communicate with us before using any numbing creams before your session. Often brands can have a negative effect on your tattoo so it is not recommended. Most artists do offer numbing agents during your session to help manage the pain if needed.

  • Once your appointment has been approved and the deposit has been received your appointment/idea is then considered confirmed. Any major changes after this point may require a NEW deposit (the original deposit would be forfeited) and your appointment date/time may be changed. Minor tweaks/changes are ok!

    Please, be sure of your idea and the quoted price estimate when you book your appointment!

  • Most of the healing process will be complete after the first 2 weeks but your skin could take from 4-6 weeks to be back to normal and 100% healed.

  • After your tattoo session, you need to wait at least 1 month for the tattoo to fully heal. If you feel it needs a touch-up the first session is complimentary* within 3 months of your original tattoo. After 3 months any touch-ups will be charged at the artists hourly rate.

    *Finger tattoos and some feet tattoos are exempt from free touch-ups and are always charged at a 50% rate due to the nature of the skin there.
